Graduation Requirements
Every student graduates with a plan built around their remaining requirements — not a one-size-fits-all checklist.
An individualized road map
When a student enrolls, we evaluate every credit earned from 9th grade onward to determine what remains. That evaluation becomes a road map of the courses left to complete, and part of their Individualized Success Plan.
Proficiency, not seat time
Studies are complete when attendance and academic requirements are met and the student has proven proficiency in the subject. Learning is mastery-based: a subject not yet mastered is marked “incomplete” until the student meets the minimum passing grade — there are no failing grades. Because completion depends on mastery rather than the calendar, students finish at different points in the year. While the graduation ceremony is always held in May, a student with only a few credits left may walk in it and finish those credits over the summer.
Credit recovery & remediation
Students often arrive needing credit in a particular subject. They can remediate any credit required to graduate or qualify for college, including summer classes to catch up on what they missed.
