Academic
Graduation Requirements
Every student graduates with a plan built around their remaining requirements — not a one-size-fits-all checklist.
An individualized road map
When a student enrolls, we evaluate all credits earned from 9th grade onward to determine what remains for graduation. This credit evaluation is like a “road map” of courses the student must complete for high school graduation, and it becomes part of their Individualized Success Plan.
Proficiency, not seat time
A student’s studies are completed when attendance and academic requirements are met, and the student has proven proficiency in the subject area. We believe in mastery-based learning: if a student has not mastered a subject adequately, an “incomplete” status is given until they meet the minimum passing grade requirements — no failing grades. Because of this unique model, a student's graduation date can differ from the traditional end-of-May graduation.
Credit recovery & remediation
Students often come to us needing to earn credit in a particular subject in order to graduate. Our program allows students to remediate any credit needed to graduate or qualify for college, including summer classes to catch up on missed credits.
Recognized everywhere
As a school accredited by Cognia (NCA CASI), the credits students earn at Accelerated Schools are recognized by schools, colleges, and universities globally.
